Free Preschool
for 4-Year-Olds (GSRP)
The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is a free, state-funded preschool for eligible four-year-olds, designed to prepare children for kindergarten success. Through play-based learning, caring teachers, and a research-backed curriculum, children build the academic and social skills needed for a strong start in school.
Our curriculum builds early literacy, math, science, and social-emotional skills—helping every child grow into a confident, kindergarten-ready learner.
- Literacy & Language – Storytelling, rhymes, vocabulary building, early reading and writing.
- Math & Science – Sorting, counting, exploring patterns, hands-on experiments, and discovery learning.
- Creative Arts – Music, movement, dramatic play, and art projects that foster self-expression.
- Social-Emotional Growth – Turn-taking, empathy, teamwork, and independence.
- Fine & Gross Motor Development – Activities that strengthen coordination, balance, and handwriting readiness.

At Trailside Pre-K, children learn, grow, and build confidence in a safe, nurturing environment. Our preschool and pre-kindergarten programs are designed to prepare children ages 3–5 for kindergarten and beyond through a balanced, play-based curriculum rooted in the latest early childhood research.
Each day, children engage in activities that spark curiosity, creativity, and independence. For Kids’ Sake Early Learning Center is growing! Our new Trailside Preschool in Downtown Pinckney offers the same trusted, high-quality early learning experience that families have loved for over 18 years.
Trailside serves three- and four-year-old Pre-K learners, focusing on kindergarten readiness through play-based, hands-on learning.
